Always pack a manicure set - one of the female ones that has tweezers, scissors etc. The tweezers are good for pulling out burrs or putting jewellery back together, the nail scissors come in handy to cut tags on clothing (and your nails) and the other other implements are there for when a Macgyver type moment arrives. Do remember to put it in your checked in luggage though!
